At its December 2017 meeting, the Parish Council agreed the content of its 3-yr rolling Corporate Plan as being suitable for public consultation. The Plan has proposed actions set out for development and gradual delivery over the period. The Council would like to know what you think about the Plan's composition and the actions that are proposed (each subject, of course, to more individual consideration when brought forward). You can write to us, contact your parish councillors, or see us at our meetings to let us know what you think. The document is set out below:
The next meeting of the Parish Council is Monday 9th September 2019, at 7.00pm in The Community Centre, the agenda and supporting papers for which will be published below.
Members of the public are welcome and encouraged to attend all meetings of the Parish Council.
An informal Members' Surgery will be held before each Full Council meeting, commencing at 6.40pm. Please do come
along to meet your Councillors (and your IW Council Ward Member) and discuss your concerns with them. Items for the Parish Council to discuss 'in session' can be put on future agendas, but unless
already set out will not be heard that evening.

Public Consultation about the Parish Council's 3-yr Plan
Public Consultation about the public toilets
Following the Launch event at a Public Meeting on 25 September 2017, a period of six weeks to 6 November was made available for consultation, the feedback from which has assisted the Parish Council to decide at its meeting on 13 November that it will continue to fund both the Public Toilets, the Duver Toilets will be open all year (accessible toilets only in Winter) and Station Road subject to Defra consultation decision. This was an 'in principle' decision subject to further legal and technical 'due diligence' enquiries. All residents and businesses were encouraged to participate. Planning applications made to IW Council are consulted with the Parish Council. You can find out if applications have been made in your area by following this link to IW Council's search page (then select Option 2 / Town, and select 'St Helens' from the drop-down box) from where you can also leave comments on the application directly. IW Council also publish applications received each week in the Press. Follow the link here to access the listings, through which access to individual applications is refreshed every Friday.
The Parish Council will publish details of applications it has received for comment on its own meeting agenda, which will appear above for each month it meets. You are very welcome to attend Parish Council meetings and let it know what you think.
St Helens has produced a Village Design Statement, that seeks to guide developers and residents in shaping the future character of the village. It is shown below. The Statement is required to be taken as a 'Material Consideration' when planning applications are determined by the Planning Authority. Much of the village also lies within a Conservation Area, and the map and appraisal are also shown below:
Annual audit process
As explained on our audit page, there is a period each year in which electors of the parish can arrange to inspect the accounts of the parish council. The period for 2017-18 has now closed, and the period for the execise of public rights was Tuesday 12th June 2018 to Monday 23rd July 2018.
